Here’s why: “Hennes & Mauritz” (full name written out) was used after the 1968 merger between “Hennes” and “Mauritz Widforss”. The multi-country list (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Great Britain, Switzerland) matches H&M’s earliest European expansion phase in the early 1970s. “Made in Italy for H&M” indicates production before they heavily shifted to Asia in the late 1970s–1980s. The typography and woven label style are consistent with 1968–1975 H&M garments. So here we have an early H&M piece, much older and rarer than typical fast-fashion items.
